Free Halloween smileys and All Hallows' Eve oddities
As my friends will attest, I like to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to
trends and memes. I'm the same way about Halloween. Already in the throes of
cool hunting for this year's hot costume, I surprisingly discovered this...

OH NO YOU DI'INT!
Says NBC New York:
If passing out candy to the
neighborhood kids while dressed like a jilted Octomom doesn't faze you, check
out the following Halloween oddities. (Spoiler alert: There will be tampons!)
And if you prefer a more tame All Hallows' Eve, be sure to add the festive, free
smileys below courtesy of us at Smiley Central.

Halloween oddities
1. Halloween tampon crafts
Is it just me, or is this googly-eyed tampon ghost brilliant? Much better than the Valentine's Day tampon heart earrings; those are much too real.
2. Star Wars-themed pumpkins
You don't need a high midichlorian count to appreciate these Death Star, Yoda, and Vader gourds. Still, it seems like a lot of time and energy to put into something that's just going to be smashed by the neighborhood ruffians...like yours truly.
3. Vintage Halloween photos
Entitled "Halloween in the Time of Cholera," collector Steven Martin's gallery of antique pictures haunts the viewer. The Orphanage, anyone?
4. This costume by Pottery Barn Kids
LAND SHARK!

OH NO YOU DI'INT!
Says NBC New York:
Much like the Amy Winehouse wig of 2007 or the Sarah Palin glasses of 2008, the Kate Gosselin wig of 2009 is the perfect one-hit wonder costume -- throw it on and you're instantly transformed by its singularly recognizable look.
