In the Name of 3D
Do you have 90 minutes to spare? If so, I would strongly suggest spending it with Bono in his latest "everything I touch turns to gold" creative endeavor.
U2, in collaboration with National Geographic and 3ality Digital, have taken over 100 hours of live concert footage filmed in South America during their Vertigo tour and marvelously mastered it to be what they simply call U23D..
3D has come a long way since I remember it. The glasses have changed dramatically from cardboard cutouts to Nicole Richie-esque bug out shades, and the filming now allows for layering. Which means: YOU. ARE. THERE. Edge is to the left, Adam on the right, and Larry and Bono somewhere in between.
Take it from someone who watched the film last night, drove home, jumped into bed and found she couldn't sleep a wink all night... this experience just might be even better than the real thing.
