As the newest member of the team, I realize we haven't really gotten to know each other too well. I mean, you can read my bio, but what does that really tell you about a person other than what they've done in the past? The real way to peel the onion (so to speak, although I gotta say, I hate that phrase) is to find out what someone is into now...at this very moment. So here's a little introduction to me a la my own personal buzz list:

Jack Bauer
This will come as no surprise to anyone who works with me, or knows me for that matter. I have a serious crush on this renegade former CTU agent/federal fugitive/all-around badass who is responsible for the safety and well-being of every American citizen. (So I take my entertainment a bit too seriously. Consider it another fact you now know about me.) If you aren't watching 24, you are missing out on what is left of good television. And let me also clarify - loving Jack Bauer does not mean that I'm pining for Kiefer as well. Two very different men - two very different feelings.

Bargain Shopping SmileyCentral.com
Some might say I'm a bit of a shopaholic. These are people who clearly don't know the full extent of my problem. I have a MAJOR shopping addiction. But with the current state of the economy, there is simply no need to pay full price any more. So if you are, frankly you are getting screwed. Bargain hunting is one of the most thrilling games there is, and victory doesn't taste much sweeter than a Marc by Marc Jacobs top for 75% off. One of my favorite locations for sale spotting is Daily Candy Deals.

Watching My Favorite TV Shows for FREE
I am a bit of a TV junkie, especially when it comes to sitcoms of yore (yore being the 80's, of course). So when I found that not only can I watch full episodes of ALF and One Day at a Time at my computer, but The Facts of Life too, I was in heaven. (Yes, my dream when I was little was to be Jo. She was the epitome of cool. Still is.) It also connects quite well to my bargain shopping passion since I can get great entertainment without having to spend a dime!

Smiling at People You Pass SmileyCentral.com
Let's face it. Common courtesy is dying a dismal death, and I can't stand it. All of us could use a visit and a stern talking to from Ms. Emily Post. I mean, really people, how hard is it to give a smile to someone who passes by you? And it's a lot nicer to see a happy face than a blank stare. So give it a try today, and I bet it puts you in a better mood. (And while you are at it, let's all try using these common yet endangered sayings as well: "Please", "Thank You" and "Excuse Me.")

The Carpenters
I know you may say this brother/sister duo is quite vanilla, but honestly, is there really a more luxurious flavor to savor? Personally, I have yet to come across a more beautiful voice than Karen Carpenter's. And their squeaky clean image gives us a nice break from some of the wacko antics we've been seeing from our most current pop stars. Now don't get me wrong. I need a good dose of Britney and Kanye like the rest of us. But take a quick listen to Love Songs, and you'll actually feel your blood pressure go down. Try Rainy Days and Mondays when you are in need of some serious catharsis.

So that's a small dose of me for you. Now it's your turn. I want to know who I'm talking to out there. Drop me a line and tell me what you're into. Maybe we could teach each other a thing or two!
