Star Wars 30th Anniversary: Which Character Are You?
Thirty years ago, in a theater not too far away, I sat and watched the most amazing movie I ever saw and was hooked. At only 4 years old, there isn't much I remember about going to see Star Wars for the first time, but I do remember the movie. Many, many years later I am still known for being a rather obsessive Star Wars Geek. My desk here at Smiley HQ is adorned with a litter of Star Wars Pez dispensers, a miniature Millenium Falcon and the coup de grâce, Darth Tater.
With the 30-year anniversary of Star Wars being this week, May 25, the BBC has offered up their 30 pieces of trivia about Star Wars. The History Channel will be premiering their new documentary Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed on Memorial Day at 9pm.
The movies had great special effects for its time and great action, too, but what drove the stories were the characters. Some are beloved by all (Han Solo, Yoda, Chewbacca). Others inspire hatred among some (that's right Jar Jar, meesa looking at you). ABCnews.com offers up their Stars Wars: Where Are They Now?, a look at what became of the actors from the first 3 films.
If you've always wondered what character YOU would be in a galaxy far far away, here's your chance. Take the Star Wars Personality Test. I took it, and I'm rather pleased with the results. Some others here in Smileyville were not as pleased when the result turned out they were Jar Jar Binks. The unfortunate party cough Peter cough tried to take it again but I think that's cheating.
