Lately, we've been so busy here at
SmileyBuzz headquarters that we've barely had time to focus on the most
important thing...and that, of course, is you. Unfortunately, we have been so
busy building the glorious virtual paradise of Zwinktopia and coming up with
cool new Webfetti items that we haven't had time to hear from our readers. Along
these lines, we figured now is as good a time as any to open up the old
SmileyBuzz Mailbag and see what folks have to say.
Today's email comes from Jane in Solitude, Indiana....which sounds like it can be a pretty lonely place. Jane writes:
Dear Buzzsters -
I love my
Zwinky! But my profile page is soooo boring. I'd really like to add some kickin'
tunes to liven things up a bit. Can you help?
Rest assured that you're not alone, Jane. Boring profile pages and blogs, unfortunately, are a pretty common blight on the Web these days. That's what motivated us to create Webfetti - a site dedicated to making the world a more beautiful and interesting place....one profile page at a time.
Using Webfetti to add some "kickin' tunes," as you so eloquently put it, is easy. First you need to head on over to webfetti.com, or click on the Webfetti icon that you may see in your browser toolbar. Once there, you'll want to click on the Generators link in the top navigation bar - and then Music Generator in the left navigation column.
Click on the music generator you would like to add to your page. Personally, I like the glitter guitar. But hey, if that boombox is more your style, go for it. Then follow these three easy steps:
1.
Insert the URL – or web address -
of an MP3 music file you would like to add to your music player underneath the
"URL to file:" text. You can also add the name of the artist and song title in
the two text fields beneath the URL field. Then click on the "Add" button.
Repeat this step for any additional songs you may want to add into your player.
Please note that all music for your player must be in MP3 format, and must
already be uploaded to an existing location on the web.
2. Click on the small arrow next
to the “Network” button at the top of the smiley screen, and select Zwinky from
the drop-down menu....and then click on the "Copy Code" button next to the "Network" button.

3. Log in to Zwinky, and click on the "View Profile" link beneath your Zwinky’s picture. Then click on the "Edit Profile" link in your profile window, and scroll down to the line that reads "Custom Stylesheet." If you don’t see a text field, click on the "Click to display" link on that line. Paste the Webfetti code (using Ctrl-V on your keyboard) into the Custom Stylesheet text field. If you already have placed code in that field, you may paste the code just underneath the older code. Then click on the "Update Profile" button at the bottom of the page.
That's it! Your tunes have found a new home on your profile page. And keep in mind you can also add Webfetti music generators to your MySpace, Hi5 and Blogger pages as well.
To celebrate your success, we offer you a truly kickin' tune called "Added Impulse" -- courtesy of Gary Bloom, a very talented guy who works in the SmileyBuzz production department. For more info on Gary and his album entitled "Lighting the Dark," click here.
Thanks, Gary! And rock on, Buzz readers!
