To circumvent having to appear in yet another sad and awkward music video, Britney Spears dreamed up the idea of appearing in cartoon form for her new video, "Break the Ice." Borrowing heavily from Sailor Moon—a cultural touchstone for many of Smiley Central's illustrators, manga Britney saves us the ordeal of seeing the real life Britney's sloppy body, poorly executed choreography, and bad lip synching. Bravo!

By the way, Britney, might I suggest a few other art forms to replace you in future videos?

Claymation Britney: Think old school, Gumby, stop-motion art with clay figures. Just picture it...Britney breakdancing? Sure! Britney shape-shifting? Of course! Britney hanging out with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The California Raisins? Heck yeah!

South Park Britney: Come on, Spears, it's just moving around cardboard cutouts. Maybe Federline can be in charge of this one.

Photoshop illustration Britney: This time lapse painting of Thom Yorke turned out splendidly, and Radiohead's "Karma Police" set the perfect tone. Perhaps yours can be set to the masterpiece "Oops!...I Did It Again."

Webfetti.com3D animation Britney: It's just like real life Britney except, you know, less trainwrecky.

Check out the new Britney video now, and take a look at anime glitter graphics and anime smileys on our sister site Webfetti!
